First Classier: LNER Set to Welcome Customers Back to New and Improved King’s Cross Lounge
LNER is revealing a brand new look and feel for its First Class Lounge at London King’s Cross station.
Following a major refurbishment, LNER customers with First Class tickets will soon be able to relax and unwind in the new and improved space.
The area will reopen on Tuesday 31 March 2026, with customers able to enjoy additional seating and dedicated zones for working, heritage-inspired décor, layered lighting, and more greenery, enhancing the First Class ambience and creating a modern and welcoming environment.
The new Lounge was designed with customer feedback in mind with additional luggage and pushchair storage areas, a redesigned reception area to welcome customers, and a new open plan design which includes a refreshments area. Toilet facilities have also been refurbished.
To provide clearer travel information, new Customer Information Screens have been installed throughout the waiting area, with departure information, platform numbers, and British Sign Language (BSL) interpretation.
Complimentary drinks and snacks will continue to be available, including products sourced from across 1,000 miles of LNER route.
Colette Casey, Customer Experience Director at LNER, said: “I’m thrilled that we will be welcoming back customers into our new and improved First Class Lounge at London King’s Cross.
“The Lounge has been transformed into a modern, comfortable, relaxing area for our First Class customers to spend time in and enjoy before or after travelling with us, and we cannot wait to hear what they think of the changes.
“I know first-hand how popular the Lounge is with our customers and I want to thank them for their patience while this important improvement work has taken place.”
Alongside Lounge access at stations across the route, travelling First Class with LNER has great benefits including complimentary food and drink throughout your journey, including seating with greater leg room and larger tables.
