LNER Bradford Beryl Bikes In Bradford

LNER Extends Partnership With Beryl To Bradford For New E-Bike Scheme

LNER is delighted to be extending its successful e-bike partnership with Beryl to Bradford.

Two hundred LNER Bradford Beryl Bikes can now be found throughout the city. Docking stations have been installed in convenient areas for residents, commuters, and visitors who may wish to visit Bradford Forster Square, Bradford University, Bradford Royal Infirmary and a number of other key transport hubs, workplaces and along the city's cycle superhighways. The partnership is the latest sustainable travel initiative from LNER, with the introduction of the bikes helping make it easier to combine train and bike travel.

Following the successful launch of the scheme in Leeds, the expansion of the e-bike scheme to Bradford provides further opportunities for customers to explore the city. LNER more than tripled its daily direct connections Monday to Saturday to and from London King’s Cross last year. Seven trains per day in each direction now run - up from two per day previously. Sunday services have also doubled, now with two trains each way, giving customers even more flexibility.

David Flesher, Commercial Director at LNER, said: “Expanding our e-bike partnership with Beryl into Bradford represents an important milestone for LNER.

“The introduction of the LNER Bradford Beryl Bikes further strengthens our commitment to achieving Net Zero by 2045, while providing a greener, more convenient way for people to travel across this vibrant and growing city. Following Bradford’s fantastic Year of Culture, we remain committed to supporting the city’s continued growth and helping more people experience all it has to offer. ”

Phil Ellis, CEO at Beryl, said: “We are excited to launch LNER Bradford Beryl Bikes. Sustainable micromobility is a transformative technology, and public schemes like this make it more accessible and affordable.

“All-electric journeys using smaller, lighter forms of transport can significantly cut emissions and increase air quality in cities, an area of increased focus. We are proud to work alongside Bradford Council and LNER on this new e-bike scheme and look forward to seeing the Beryl BBE2 powering sustainable journeys throughout the city.”
