LNER to Continue Supporting Hearts and Hibs Fans On and Off the Pitch
LNER is pleased to announce the extension of its partnerships with Edinburgh football clubs Heart of Midlothian FC and Hibernian FC through to 2026.
The relationships with both clubs extend well beyond high-profile advertising and brand presence. Over several years, LNER has worked closely with Hearts and Hibs off the pitch, with a strong focus on staff engagement and community connection.
This has included LNER chefs and hosts swapping serving customers at 125mph on trains for supporting matchday experiences at both clubs, offering supporters a distinctive taste of hospitality. These initiatives form part of a wider programme of activations designed to strengthen and grow the partnerships.
Looking ahead to 2026, LNER will also continue to support fans by transporting them to football away days, helping to enhance the overall matchday journey for supporters.
As part of the extended partnership, LNER will additionally support Hibernian Women during the 2025/26 campaign, reinforcing its ongoing commitment to championing the women’s game.
David Flesher, Commercial Director at LNER, said: “Bringing Passion is at the heart of everything we do at LNER. By working closely with both clubs and their supporters, we’re proud to play a role in supporting the vibrant local communities along our route.
"We’re absolutely delighted to continue our partnerships with Hearts and Hibs, and to support the clubs in achieving their ambitions—both on the pitch and beyond.”
Murray Milligen, Hibernian FC Commercial Director commented: “We are absolutely delighted to extend our commercial partnership with LNER for another season.
“Over several years now we have worked with closely with them on a number of different activations and they have had great benefits for everyone involved. We’re delighted that they have shown their support for Hibernian Women as well this season as we look to shine a light on the women’s game. We look forward to working with LNER over the next year.”
Catriona McCallum, Heart of Midlothian Football Club Chief Revenue Officer added: “We are very proud to announce our extended partnership with LNER for this season.
"Since we first began working with LNER three seasons ago we have collaborated on a number of projects which are close to the club’s heart, such as supporting our Community Football 'Play The Game' Programme in February last year, which encourages young children to get involved with football and be active during the school holidays.
"Thanks to LNER’s valued support we look forward to doing so again this year, and building even closer connections to our shared Edinburgh community."
